THE THANKSGIVING SONG

Over the river and through the swamps

To St. Mary’s we will go

Aquamap shows the way

So Obsession won’t stray into shallow murky mud.

Over the river and through the swamps

Steering carefully as we go

The winds and the rain have been nasty this year

Causing many a Creek to shoal

Over the river and down the creeks on the ICW we’ll go

With a strong tide flow and a high one at that we’ll hopefully avoid any trap.

Over the river and through the swamps

Oh, how the sun does shine

It warms our hearts and makes us smile

the further south we go.

Over the river and through the swamps

No snow for us you see

We’re headed south

And soon we’ll be

In the Florida Keys

Over the river and through the swamps

How happy we will be

To bask in the sun

And swim in the  azure blue seas.

Over the river and through the swamps

Such colorful sights we see

Red, pink and blue

The houses are pretty

Except when Mother Nature’s not pleased

Over the river and through the swamps to B & B Seafood we go.

Annette and Billie were mighty fine hosts

We bought fresh shrimp right off their boat.

Over the river and through the swamps

it’s duck hunters we do see.

With camouflage and and guns

they may shoot

Their dinner for Thanksgiving day.

Over the river and through the bridge

to Skull Creek we will go

The sun is shining, the sky is blue

and we are so happy too.

Over the river and down the creeks

For Thanksgiving dinner with friends.

Not old friends, but new,

and they’re boaters too

Thanks to all who

helped make this come true.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
